Band deserved more audience response

Thursday's 3 Doors Down concert was a disappointment, not because the band performed poorly, but because of the lack of crowd participation. It seemed like no one in the audience wanted to be there.

As a loyal 3 Doors Down fan, I was in shock. At $27.50 per ticket, I thought the crowd would have had an interest in all the bands. But the only response at all was to Shinedown's metal performance. Neither 3 Doors Down nor Alterbridge were ever metal bands, but they put on a great show nonetheless.

If students want to rock out to some great rock music, they ruined their chance Thursday by being unresponsive.

An enormous amount of credit should have been given to all the bands there, especially considering that 3 Doors Down recently had their lives ripped apart by Hurricane Katrina. Alterbridge put on an awesome show despite being ill. Only Shinedown got the credit that they deserved because they played metal, not alternative rock.
