Man arrested after assault in stadium

William Corbett, of State College, was arrested on charges of indecent assault, simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred at about 4 p.m. Saturday in Beaver Stadium. Penn State University Police said Corbett was apprehended after he fell onto a woman, groped her and struck her in the chest. Corbett was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and released in lieu of $2,500 unsecured bail.

Officer injured; student faces charges

Penn State student Jason Dunham was taken into custody at about 3 a.m. Friday for allegedly causing disorder, Penn State University Police said. Dunham is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment, public drunkenness and a liquor law violation. A Penn State auxiliary officer reported Dunham as being in an intoxicated state near Beaver Hall. Police said that when the officer attempted to apprehend Dunham, he kicked the officer in the face, which caused the officer to fall and hit his head on the sidewalk. Police said the officer went to the hospital for evaluation and treatment for possible neck and back injuries. Dunham was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, university police said. Dunham was placed in Centre County prison in lieu of $25,000 bail, which he posted Friday.

Thon theme announced during parade

The Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon overall committee announced its theme, "Together We'll Prevail," during Friday's homecoming parade.

The theme encompasses everyone involved in the fight against cancer, including the doctors, patients, parents, community and students, Jaci Christopher, Thon public relations chair, said.

Themes are decided during the annual retreat for Thon chairs, where ideas are combined and brainstormed to make a theme created from group effort. Christopher said the Thon committee wants to stress working together this year.

Straylight Run to perform at Crowbar

Straylight Run will take the stage at 8:30 tonight, with special guests Plain White Tees and Paramore, at Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave. Tickets are $14 for the all-ages show.
