Letter to the Editor
Exhibit discourages debates of abortion

Regarding the recent displays by Penn State Students for Life, as well as yesterday's letter by Mike Thomas, "Pictures show reality of aborting fetuses," Oct. 26, please don't bother trying to defend these violent images as in any way necessary or informative.

Be honest with yourselves and your community: You're trying to shock and disgust people. That's it. What point are these pictures intended to prove? That fetuses are gross? That abortion involves blood sometimes? Wow! Who would've thought medical procedures aren't always pleasant to look at? I assumed that we were all basically Play-Doh inside. Thanks for enlightening us on this point, Students for Life.

In all seriousness, there are two ways to make a point: intelligent argument and debate, or juvenile attention-grabbing and sensationalism.

We'll be ready to listen to your points when you grow up.
