Students who are compulsive away message checkers, Facebook addicts or dedicated to schoolwork might now have a little easier time getting online.

Yesterday, the European Union (EU) declared the outbreak of avian flu in Asia and Europe a "global threat," which could affect local and statewide poultry farming practices.

One of the biggest Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon fundraising efforts will be off to a running start this weekend.

A State College man was arrested yesterday and charged with 61 felony counts in connection with a series of photos depicting children engaging in sexual activity, according to court documents.

The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center has been cited for a violation of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements, specifically the unauthorized use of radioactive material, in three separate incidents.

More than 30 students surged into the halls of Old Main yesterday, stomping their feet on the stairs, chanting "no more hate" and calling for the administration to end discrimination at Penn State.

Heading into its most daunting competition yet, the Penn State men's tennis team is lucky to have a familiar face leading the way.

The old saying goes, "scoring wins games, but defense wins championships."

Although it may be tempting to start breaking out in "Start up the bus" with an eighth straight Big Ten championship nearly in the bags, it's not time just yet to start dangling the keys.

Competition is starting to heat up for the Penn State field hockey team. The team is in the heat of the moment to beat a Big Ten border rival and to break a 12-year win streak.

Today the Penn State women's tennis team sends its three best players to compete in the NCAA regional qualifying tournament in West Point, N.Y. The winners of this weekend's tournament in singles and doubles play will qualify to compete at the NCAA national indoor championships in late November.

It may be in last place in the Big Ten conference. It may have already lost to Indiana. But Illinois isn't too scared of big, bad No. 12 Penn State.

Officials from Penn State's Office of Affirmative Action offered an update into their investigation of allegations that Penn State women's basketball coach Rene Portland discriminated against former Lady Lion Jen Harris.
