In Sean Siekkinen's letter ("Being gay still seen as negative attribute," Oct. 17), he said "Being gay is not a good thing," and I couldn't agree more. In fact, being Muslim isn't a good thing, either. I disagree with their lifestyle choices, and I'm sick of them demanding equal rights. And how about blacks? The Civil Rights Movement? Gosh, what a waste of the sixties. Don't even get me started on Jewish people. Maybe Hitler had the right idea, all along. Being different is bad.
What really bothers me are small-minded lifestyles, such as your own. Nobody's asking you to encourage their behavior. You encourage the behavior of a dog that doesn't urinate on the rug. The only thing anyone is asking you for is equal treatment, and maybe, for once, to not ostracize everything that's different, but accept it as an integral part of society. And don't worry, it isn't airborne.
