Letter to the Editor
Religious preachings pointless on campus

I left the Willard Building after class when I was distracted by someone with an enormous banner proclaiming the salvation of God (or more like the severe consequences without it). I walked closer and I began to hear the sermonizing of a worldly man.

Although I was very interested in the urgent social ills the man was addressing, after about five seconds I began to walk away. Then I was confronted by a younger man who asked me if I wanted a flyer. I said no, and as I began to walk away, he said "It won't be so funny when you're in hell." Were these people sincere in wanting kids to drop their educational pursuits and shoulder the cross of poverty and ignorance? Belief cannot be forced. I had not listened intently to their message, but I suggest that they use a sunnier method of persuasion over their spiritual blustering.
