The last two weeks leading up to the Michigan game on Saturday were some of the most school-spirited days I can remember. I had people talking to me about football who cannot tell the difference between a quarterback and cornerback. There were people calling the victory over Ohio State one of the greatest days of their lives. People were starting to talk about an undefeated season and talk of Rose Bowl plans surrounded this campus.
After the game on Saturday against Michigan, Happy Valley turned into Somber Valley. People showed their disgust for the football team who just a week earlier turned this place in to the happiest place in America. Let's slow down a little. If someone before this season started would have told me the Lions would be undefeated going to the Big House, I would have laughed at them.
This team, who was unranked at the start of the season, was not even given a chance to contend for a Big Ten Championship let alone even enter talks of the National Championship picture. The Nittany Lions still sit atop of the Big Ten and can control their own destiny for a Big Ten Title and BCS berth.
While the loss might have stung especially with the way it ended, the season is far from over. Go out and support your Nittany Lions just like the beginning of the year because that is what I will be doing.
