PSU not responsible for student behaviors

In response to the editorial "PSU, state health system should offer AIDS tests free of charge all the time," Oct. 7, the University Health Services should not offer free AIDS testing.

Let the $50 fee be a deterrent to students; if they make a mistake, this is the price they have to pay. Who has $50 to throw around in college? Students should be more knowledgeable and more responsible in their actions. If anything, Penn State could allocate time and funds for a program on AIDS awareness. Don't you think that protecting yourself from contracting AIDS would leave students better off than a free test when it might already be too late? Penn State shouldn't have to pay for your mistakes.
