Female student reports sexual assault
The State College Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred sometime between 3 and 5 a.m. Sunday in an apartment on the 400 block of Beaver Avenue.
The victim, an 18-year-old Penn State student, had been drinking heavily and told officers she had been "quite intoxicated." The victim said after a friend helped her into a bunk bed around 3 a.m., she remembers waking up and realizing someone was lying on top of her, police said.
The victim said she could not remember anything else until noon Sunday, when she fully woke up.
At that time, police said, she realized she was on the floor without her pants on and her bra was unclipped in the back.
State College Police Sgt. Mark Argiro said the woman was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center. He added that police would begin by interviewing all the people who had attended the party at the apartment.
Student arraigned on assault charges
Penn State student Nathan Lehman was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and defiant trespass in connection with an altercation that occurred at 11 p.m. Saturday.
Lehman was warned several times not to enter the playing surface of Beaver Stadium but he ignored the warnings, entered the field area, and while doing so, he struck a police officer in the face, Penn State University Police said.
Lehman was arraigned before District Judge Thomas Jordan and is being held in Centre County prison on $10,000 bail.
