Last week's big catch named play of the week

The dramatic 36-yard touchdown pass from Penn State senior quarterback Michael Robinson to freshman wideout Derrick Williams with 51 seconds to play at Northwestern has been selected the "Pontiac Game Changing Performance" of the Week.

The announcement was made Saturday night on ESPN at halftime of the Air Force-Colorado State game.

Williams' catch received 48 percent of the votes among the four plays that were nominated from last weekend's action.

In honor of the selection, Pontiac will make a $5,000 contribution to Penn State's general scholarship fund.

By the end of the college football season, Pontiac will have contributed close to $200,000 to NCAA institutions across the nation.

With the Nittany Lions trailing, 29-27, Robinson tossed the ball to Williams, who made the catch near the 5-yard line, stopped and ducked to avoid a defender and dashed into the end zone with his first collegiate touchdown and the decisive points in Penn State's narrow 34-29 victory in the Lions' Big Ten opener.
