Letter to the Editor
Stereotypes different than blatant racism

I was rather disturbed by the latest offering by Thomas Mei ("Race relations problems rampant at Penn State," Sept. 28).

Apparently, Penn State is not only a let down for transfer students, but rampant with racism. I firmly disagree. What Mei writes about here is stereotyping, not flat-out racism. Like the last offering by Mei, I am finding little, if any, value in this column other than ways to legitimately use "whitie" in the newspaper. We're not all racists, nor do I believe we are "too diverse." The university has plenty of what you rather tactlessly call "integration of races."

Please, make an effort to go and experience the world outside before writing another column.
