NEWS

Poker at Penn State just got bigger.

A New Jersey man charged with 38 drug-related offenses chose to withdraw his application for a non-jury trial during a pretrial conference yesterday.

The State College Police Department is currently investigating an assault that occurred at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in front of Canyon Pizza.

It's been about six months since a downtown bar started smoke-free Mondays, and while newcomers have kept business consistent, it doesn't look likely that the trend will spread to other bars.

With a $40,000 budget, one Penn State group will be spending their weekends 25 miles north of State College.

Former Lions forward dismissed from team

The Penn State men's soccer team has been riding a seesaw over the last week.

The members of Penn State's defense spent all of last year waiting for the game where they got to take the field with a chance to end the game.

Chances are, if you watched Saturday's thrilling 34-29 victory against Northwestern, you wouldn't have noticed it.

Just as he had done for the past 23 years, departing Penn State men's tennis coach Jan Bortner watched his players grind out points for the Blue and White.

Just before her grand homecoming back to the state of Ohio, freshman Nicole Fawcett was able to pick up another honor that will make conversations with friends and family that much longer.

Given that the members of the Penn State men's soccer team have scored four goals in eight games this season, they likely haven't been sporting the same pairs of underwear for good luck.

Saturday's victory in the Spiked Shoe Invitational was another big step forward for the men's cross country team, perhaps none more so than for Dan Mazzocco.
