I am writing in regards to the Collegian's editorial that online graduate education is somehow inferior to the classroom version, ("Online master's degree in homeland security an educational waste," Sept. 22).
I have completed online graduate work, and I have discussed my experiences with others who took the same courses in classroom settings. We could not find any difference in the material presented, nor in the assessments of what we learned.
I have checked out the Penn State directory entries for both the editor in chief and the opinion editor of the Collegian. Both entries indicate that they are undergraduate students.
So where do people who haven't completed their undergraduate education get off rendering an opinion on how the university should run a graduate program?
It is kind of like having Hollywood actors talk about international politics.
