Letter to the Editor
Columnists deserve support for opinions

I would like to thank the Collegian columnists for having the courage to put their opinions out there for over 40,000 people to read.

When I turn to the Collegian's opinion page, I'm interested to see what students are thinking, whether that be quantum physics or their disappointment in University Park.

I'm looking for a break from articles about football statistics, administrative quarrels, and weather reports. If I don't agree with someone's opinion, I reason it out with friends. I don't whine about how immature or anti-social the columnist is.

I value my branch campus experience more than what I have experienced at University Park.

I think Old Spice is better than Axe, and it does seem that we have an over-abundance of immature men on the Penn State campus.

For those who feel the need to attack me based on those statements, let me continue.

I became involved in campus activities, said hi to those I met on the bus and in class. I challenged the status quo, and I did not attack people solely because of their opinions.

As I prepare to graduate this December, I hope that my fellow students can come together over what they have in common: a part in the history and tradition of a proud university with a reputation for producing outstanding citizens.
