In the column "Main campus a let down for PSU transfer student," Sept 21, one thing became evident to me. The atmosphere is what you make it. I attended a much smaller university before coming to Penn State for my masters, and was extremely overwhelmed and thought I was going to hate it, I knew no one and was broke, and definitely wasn't used to what I first considered a long walk.

However, I went out and I made the effort to talk to people, to meet my neighbors, converse with fellow classmates, enjoy the beautiful walks through this wonderful campus; and if I hadn't I would be singing the same tune as Mei.

But he just needs to give University Park a chance.
