Whiny writers don't make for good reads
I don't know how you guys operate over there at The Daily Collegian, but I think that Meredith Jones should be promoted to full-time columnist ("High dating standards valuable for college women," Sept. 22). She is a much better writer than Thomas Mei and on top of that, she has a decent, respectable opinion to voice about college life. Perhaps I am just biased toward the worthless drivel that Mei pushed forward with his first column. In all seriousness, that is not the best way to build a reading base. Year in and year out, I read the same complaints from the same .05 percent of the population. Frankly, I am tired of these silly students complaining about Penn State. Deal with it. Do something different. Or transfer back to McKeesport. And furthermore, take a lesson in writing from Jones. Patrick McGrady
