Students found stealing car magnets

Two students were found stealing several novelty car magnets at 1 a.m. Wednesday in Lot 83 North.

Penn State University Police officers stopped the two students in a car lot and found that they had 66 novelty car magnets in their pockets. The magnets are estimated to be worth $50, police said. Among those stolen were Penn State, breast cancer and "support our troops" magnets, police said. The police are urging students who are parked in Lot 83 and have car magnets to check their vehicles to see if they were victims of theft. Police said students who discover their magnets are missing should call university police at 863-1111 to file a report. The investigation will continue, and charges are expected to be filed, police said.
