A 19-year-old Penn State student charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, escape and resisting arrest waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday and was released on supervised bail, after he allegedly struggled with a Ferguson Township police officer last Saturday. Cory Pfahl, who was accused of urinating in public view, ran from Ferguson Township Police Officer Ryan Hendrick, who approached him in front of D.P. Dough, 1450 Martin St., according to court documents.
Pfahl allegedly fled into a wooded area and struggled with Hendrick, until he was handcuffed and pepper-sprayed, according to court documents. He had been held on $40,000 bail in Centre County Prison. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15 for a pretrial conference. His lawyer, Leslie Dutchcot, said she expects there will be a deal with the district attorney before that date.
