Letter to the Editor
Women's clothes not cause of comments

Patty Alonso's Sept. 14 letter to the editor, "Women's clothing reason for remarks," is absolutely ridiculous. I have many things I could say relating to this issue, but I have one rather important piece of information to support my claim.

Last Saturday night, while walking down Bigler Road with another female friend, a group of men drove by in a car and called us sluts. To provide some background information, we were dressed in jeans and hooded sweatshirts. I don't think a typical Penn Stater's wardrobe gets any more modest than that.

Maybe they're just trying to attract some ladies for some Saturday night fun with a solid pickup line? Maybe this is their way of having fun? Or maybe they want to see if they can make unsuspecting women feel bad? I didn't feel upset about what happened to me last Saturday though. Instead, I felt bad for this women-less group of men. Who could resist such charm?
