This is in response to the article "Protesters oppose new 'Da Vinci Code' film," Sept. 13. For these groups, I offer the following definition, since they seem to be ignorant of the concept. The dictionary defines a novel as an extended fictional work in prose; usually in the form of a story. The key word here being "fictional" of course.
The dictionary defines fiction as a literary work based on the imagination, and as a fabrication or a deliberately false or improbable account, The Da Vinci Code is not real.
The protesters have nothing to worry about. Just let them make the movie.
