I'm not sure you get it -- the football experience is about the students, not some rapper ("Stadium tunes get bad rap," Sept. 9).
The game is played by students and the music should be played by the students in the Blue Band. Having gone to games for the past 30 years I found that students arrive late, leave early and remain too quiet. I can't imagine how the team feels when they see how Ohio State and Wisconsin students get vocal while PSU students just slumber away.
I challenge the students to stop the rap and get vocal. I'd like to think the Blue Band could raise the roof if there were one. The night games back in the '70s and '80s against teams such as Nebraska and Notre Dame were the best. Those were loud and great games, and students were loud and many left their voices in the stands. Now if you can hear anything from the students, all you hear is rap crap.
