Five cows were reported stolen Monday from 770 Linden Hall Road, State College police said. Owner Dennis Meyer said the cows were Holstein cows, half black and half white, each with a yellow tag and a metal state of Pennsylvania tag in its left ear.
Originally, Meyer believed the cows might have run away during Sunday night's thunderstorm because they were scared. After a thorough search of the field the cows inhabit, Meyer said he now believes they were stolen. He said the gate the animals would have escaped from was half-open Monday morning, but only a person could have opened it. Each cow is worth about $1,800, Meyers said. He owns 34 additional cows.
If anyone has any further information, they are encouraged to call State College Police Department at 234-7150.
