Greg Lacock (senior-mechanical engineering), center right, explains the fuel cell technology behind his group's hybrid electric-powered golf cart to judges at the Learning Factory Project Showcase in the HUB-Robeson Center. Lacock explained yesterday that the golf cart uses lightweight main batteries that are charged by a fuel cell once they run low. As a result, the group's golf cart attains longer range and better performance as compared to a standard golf cart.
