Letter to the Editor
NFL uniform changes should be a concern

The vast majority of recent opinion articles, which pertain to little but the alleged issues of the Black Caucus and whether or not women should carry concealed weaponry to deter potential rapists, more than exhaust my attention span at this point in the semester. Instead, I wish to complain about a topic that may seem entirely irrelevant to certain individuals, much like the aforementioned discussion areas appear to me. My overbearing dilemma in life is the recent fad of liberally adopting new team uniforms in the NFL. I simply cannot understand the obsession with this trend. Just yesterday, the Arizona Cardinals unveiled their new design, which nearly perfectly mirrors the also recently renovated Atlanta Falcons uniforms.

Do relatively lousy team owners seriously believe a uniform change will make them perform better on the field? I do not know about the rest of the readers, but I sure miss the throwback New England Patriots uniforms. That little minuteman on the helmet was one of the best team logos in the history of sports. And how about the old Denver Broncos uniforms?

Nothing says John Elway like the old "Orange Crush" style uniforms from nearly a decade ago. Perhaps the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniforms are slightly better than their pumpkin colored predecessors; however, I sure do love playing Tecmo Football for the old Nintendo and seeing the bright orange abomination.

It is during these times of utter conflict and despair that we must divert our attention to truely impending concerns.
