Letter to the Editor
Caucus' demands may harm climate

Racism exists at Penn State? Really? I thought the U.S. government ended racism right after eradicating the AIDS virus and curing influenza.

The Black Caucus is not helping the fight against hatred and bigotry. The Black Caucus has continually received a poor image in the Collegian not because of white bigotry within the university's administration, but rather because their motive, demands and actions are detrimental to race-relations at Penn State.

The administration is responsible for the welfare of all students, not just the students who choose to make a name for themselves.

Racism has and always will exist.

If you are an African American attending a university where a large majority of the students are white, bigotry, albeit immoral and iniquitous, is unavoidable.

I, being a white, uncultured country boy, would expect some cultural and ethnic bigotry if I attended Grambling State University.

If the Black Caucus cares about race-relations at Penn State, perhaps they should appreciate the equality we already have.

Two racist remarks yelled from a dorm window require rallies and policy change? If this is true then Zack Mills should be protected by the Secret Service.

The leaders of minority groups like the Black Caucus who want to stop racism should do everyone else a favor and look in the mirror first.

Are your actions promoting interracial cohesion or division?
