The Penn State women's soccer team will host Syracuse this Saturday at 11 a.m. on Lady Lion Field, just off Park Avenue and University Drive.
The game will showcase a matchup of teacher and student, with Orange head coach Pat Farmer returning to lock horns with his old school. Farmer was Penn State's first-ever head coach from the program's inception in 1994 until he resigned to coach in the women's professional soccer league in 2000.
Farmer compiled a 123-34-8 record while at Penn State and guided the team to its first three Big Ten regular season championships, two Big Ten tournament championships, as well as the 1999 College Cup. His assistant all seven seasons, current head coach Paula Wilkins took over the program in 2001 and has compiled a 78-14-6 record over four seasons, stretching the string of consecutive conference regular season championships to seven-straight and making a College Cup appearance in 2002.
