Ex-'Real World' stars hosting bar tour tonight

Collegian Staff Writer

National Lampoon's Reality Bar Crawl is clambering though State College tonight in its extensive tour of Pennsylvania hosted by Real World pseudo-celebrities CT (Real World: Paris) and David (Real World: Seattle).

The Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave., is hosting the Reality Bar Crawl, featuring special guest Octane, beginning at 8 tonight. "There are four groups touring the country for nine straight weeks, hitting almost 260 cities," said Greg Heyne of Fathem Entertainment, the organization responsible for spearheading the bar crawl.

CT and David will be accompanied by a camera crew to film what will become part of MTV's fall lineup.

"We've been touring around, partying it up and meeting interesting people," tour manager Josh Clouch said. "The best place in Pennsylvania so far has been the Cell Block in Williamsport; it's probably the best club I've ever seen."

Clouch said that they will arrive in State College around noon today and plan to film around campus.

"We have a lot of radio interviews and things, but we definitely want to walk around some," Clouch said.

Dave Wells, Crowbar director of operations, believes this will be an exciting night.

"We've had a lot of success in the past with shows like these," he said. "There is always a lot of excitement."

In true MTV fashion, the tour is also a launch pad for future reality stars.

"If you're wild enough and we like you, we'll take you along on the remainder of the tour," Heyne said.

Right now, the other bar crawl groups are in Alabama, Texas and Florida, putting together an Insomniac-style road show hosted by other members from the illustrious casts of Real World.

The tour thus far is chronicled on realitybarcrawl.com, which hosts a number of other procrastinating activities such as message boards and pictures from past inebriated pit stops. So there is the opportunity to see what went on throughout the night if memory happened to be flawed that evening.

Along with the Real World hunks, Philadelphia-based rock band Octane will perform. "Octane is one of the most popular bands in Philly right now," Wells said.

"We've had a lot of people asking for them."

Octane formed in Philadelphia in 2000.
