Letter to the Editor
Police should make protection priority

It's 2 a.m., and I'm frantic. The reason, you ask? Because Penn State University Police are absurd. Last night, I was walking back from my friend's apartment, and a shady car started following me until I started running; yet there were no police in sight.

Tonight, I was helping a drunken friend back to the dorm and was busted for underage drinking. How is it that when I manage to get followed by a strange man, I'm left to fend for myself, but when I'm being a good Samaritan, police are everywhere?

If you ask me, police on campus need to get their priorities straight. I believe that if someone is helping others out, the one helping should not get in trouble. From my experiences, I will never help another friend, no matter how much they are puking.

My $200 fine and letter home caused more trouble than if I committed theft. Thanks to the university police, the next time my friend is in trouble, she will be left at a party.

Their ridiculous fines cause more trouble than good for college kids trying to have a good time.
