Radio stations need to increase variety

Forever Broadcasting must have taken its name from the simple fact that listening to the new "Hot 103" makes you feel like you are stuck listening to the same 12 songs forever.

All I can say is that I think the radio situation in the State College area is pathetic at best.

If I hear Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson or that awful "Dare You To Move" one more time, I seriously feel that the world will collapse in on itself.

I'm not saying that I think the stations should play the stuff that I personally listen to (My Chemical Romance, GlassJaw, The Used), but the simple fact that a major university cannot get the musical diversity it deserves is depressing. I guess in the end the only ones who can make a change are -- you guessed it -- ourselves, the listeners.

If you stop listening, you stop the advertising dollars, if you stop the dollars, you stop the machine. This is the way diversity on the airwaves come back, not with a whimper, but a bang.
