One local Subway restaurant confirmed yesterday that it stopped selling wheat and honey oat bread for a few hours because of a "distribution error."
"There was a defect in the bread, so we only served white bread [yesterday]," said Dave Blythe, general manager at Subway, 238 Northland Center.
The exact nature of the error could not be confirmed.
Blythe said the problem was fixed quickly and said the store resumed selling wheat and honey oat bread about four hours later.
No other Subway in State College reported recalling its wheat bread. The Subway corporate office in State College could not be reached for comment.
