A State College resident was arrested and arraigned Monday after attempting to rob an unidentified female at 340 E. Beaver Ave.
The victim reported that Daniel Lamontange, who she knew, approached her at about 6:50 p.m. and told her to give him her purse, but she refused, State College Police Sgt. Mark Argiro said.
The victim also reported that Lamontange yelled obscenities at her and she thought he would assault her, Argiro said.
Argiro said Lamontange had been arrested and arraigned before District Justice Daniel Hoffman on charges of criminal attempt of robbery, simple assault and stalking and harassment. He was incarcerated in Centre County Prison on $25,000 bail.
Lamontange's preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday.
