A 25-year-old State College resident was recently arrested in connection with the December stabbing of a Penn State student.
According to court documents, Bradley Arzner, 25, was charged Thursday with two counts of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person during a fight Dec. 5 across the street from the Gingerbread Man, 130 Hiester St.
The State College Police Department arrived at the Gingerbread Man at about 3 a.m., after a fight involving eight to 12 people had been reported.
When police arrived, the people -- including stabbing victim David Pimentel, 22 -- had already left the scene.
According to court documents, Pimentel told police he remembered being kicked to the ground, punched and kicked many times in the face and head.
He also said he was hit hard in the back several times, but he said did not realize he was stabbed until his roommate saw a wound on his back and told him.
Pimentel went to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he was treated for cuts and bruises to the face and four stab wounds to the back.
A friend of Pimentel's was involved in a verbal argument in front of Sharkies Bar and Thrifty Bottle Shop, 110 Sowers St., earlier in the night.
After bottle shop employees kicked the friend out, the friend involved in the earlier fight met with Pimentel and other friends.
While the five friends were in the parking lot between South Garner and Hiester streets, the friend who was in the earlier fight recognized the people with whom he had fought, according to court documents.
At that point, according to court documents, a group of men began to hit and kick Pimentel's friend.
Pimentel joined the fight and, according to court documents, was stabbed by Arzner, who later admitted the incident to police.
Arzner was arraigned and taken to Centre County Prison on $100,000 bail. No one else was charged in connection with the incident.
A preliminary hearing has been set for 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
