Once again, I am amazed at the liberal hypocrisy evidenced at this university.
The logic, or lack thereof, practiced in Carlos Coronado's recent opinion is appallingly bad ("Gripes about liberals at PSU getting old," April 7). While his ramblings initially appeared to be a defense of the recent slew of articles in The Daily Collegian about homosexuality, the article quickly faded into a hypocritical rant.
His argument that conservatives should shut up because everyone knows that this university is a liberal haven goes against the very reason for his writing.
If conservatives should just accept the liberalism on this campus and not try to make any changes, I guess homosexuals should shut up and do the same.
So should everyone who feels that they're being mistreated or underrepresented. I mean, really, what's the point in ever trying to change things? Things are as they are, and that's the way they should remain, right? Wrong. In the same way that homosexuals should speak up if they feel the need, so should conservatives have their voices be heard.
Of course, if we really want to get to the heart of his "argument," the Collegian should just remember to consult Carlos Coronado any time they want to write an article, just to make sure it's important to him.
