Brian Jara, lecturer in women's studies, said he has noticed a misconception among male students at Penn State -- that women's studies is a "man-bashing" program.

Registration for Penn State's sixth annual Coaches vs. Cancer 5K Walk/Run will continue this week until the race, which will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, starting in front of the Intramural Building.

Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy lies to girl. Girl dies of broken heart.

You'd think that with all the help they get from stylists, hair, and makeup, actresses and singers would always look good when placed in a public setting. Yet we all know -- thanks to the Geena Davises, Paula Abduls and Melanie Griffiths of the Tinseltown -- that this is not the case. Stars who actually have a definite developed style are not that common these days.

Sometimes reporters are sent things in hopes that they'll write about it in the paper. Most of the time, it's some insignificant band or book that's much better reviewed by some blogger sitting at his computer at 2 a.m. But every once in a while there's a diamond in the rough.

Now through June 5, the Palmer Museum of Art will be exhibiting several preparatory sketches by Henry Varnum Poor.

Who would have thought six macho steelworkers would start a strip show make money?
