Penn State women's lacrosse players Jessi Lieb (Villanova) and Lee Tortorelli (Havertown) earned national recognition from womenslacrosse.com for their play in the Lions' 10-5 defeat of Loyola on April 2.
Lieb was named the national Rookie of the Week after recording three goals, picking up five grounds balls, causing two turnovers and collecting a draw control in the win. The freshman leads the team in ground balls and ranks third on the squad in draw controls with 17.
Tortorelli made 14 saves on 30 shots while allowing only five goals in 60 minutes of action at Loyola. She also recorded three ground balls and caused two turnovers. For the year, the senior goalkeeper has a goals against average of 8.29 with 77 saves.
