Women's basketball must get equal play
This morning (April 5), I grabbed my paper to see the score of the women's basketball championship game that took place last night. After searching through the entire paper I found no mention of the game. It was like there was no game and the women's teams did not exist. I understand more people gamble over the outcome of the men's tournament, but the Baylor and Michigan State women deserve just as much front page space as the men. Did the women from Baylor not work as hard as the men from Illinois? Are female sweat and tears less important then those of the boys from Illinois? The outcome of the men's tournament continued from the front page onto the second page while the women's game went entirely unmentioned even in the sports section. I am shocked at the blatant disregard of the female community. Glad to know you support us Collegian. Abby Bush
