The State College Police Department is investigating a strong-armed robbery that occurred Tuesday in the 200 block of Locust Lane. Penn State student John Campbell, 23, told police he was walking home from a party at about 3:15 a.m. when an acquaintance approached him and asked for money.

When Campbell attempted to hand him some money, the suspect grabbed Campbell's throat and a fight ensued.

The suspect then fled with some of Campbell's money when a person on a nearby balcony yelled that they were going to call the police. Campbell sustained injuries on his neck and a laceration on his nose as a result of the altercation, police said.
