All theories must get a look by 'science'

This is in response to the article "Intelligent Design should not be taught in public schools," (April 1) by Austin Modine. Science is ever changing.

That is probably the only constant thing about it, so when a new theory is proposed, it must be considered. Yet, people are trying to block one of these theories from being taught in schools because it seems like it may possibly be affiliated with Christianity.

Intelligent Design opposes evolution and says there may be more than coincidence behind the molecule collision that began life, but that does not mean it promotes the idea of Adam and Eve.

Intelligent Design gets bashed by people saying that it cannot be tested and proved, but evolution is only a theory itself.

It is not and cannot be proved and the majority of the experiments taught in textbooks to help solidify evolution have been disproved many times over. Why can we not teach another theory that shows the same idea from a different point?

Science is the quest for the most likely answer, which involves exploring all possible options. Intelligent Design and evolution are equally feasible and therefore both deserve time in the classroom.
