'PoweR Girls'

As the saying goes, those who can, do; and those who can't, teach. It also seems that those who can become celebrities, and those who can't become celebrity publicists, as in the world of MTV's newest reality show PoweR Girls. This show follows the lives of four young celebrity publicists who work for the ever-so-popular Lizzie Grubman.

If that name doesn't ring a bell, she's the famed publicist who, while allegedly intoxicated at a Southampton party back in 2001, backed her SUV into a crowd and injured 16. However, that didn't stop MTV from giving Grubman her own show.

While the drama between the four girls (Rachel, Kelly, Millie and Ali) is often cheesy and so over-dramatic, it isn't even funny.

Rachel is a "little Lizzie" as Grubman calls her and is the favored one out of the group. Kelly is a model/wannabe actress who is more consumed with the celebrities she sees at events than she is with her job.

Millie is a princess, literally. Her father is the king of a tribe in Africa and it is apparent that Millie really exemplifies every bit of the word princess.

Ali, on the other hand, is a very well-off Ivy League grad from New Jersey who really understands the concept of playing hard and working hard.

The show is pretty insightful into the cut-throat world of PR. Grubman gives specific rules to follow, and with a long client list with the likes of celebrities such as P. Diddy, Ja Rule and Britney Spears, it is no wonder the girls can't drink on the job.

The show offers the typical drama, celebrities, cat fights and tears that most reality shows provide.

However, it seems that with Grubman at the forefront of the show, after the thirty minutes are up we'll all have learned a little lesson in what it takes to be a PoweR Girl.
