Free events offer a chance to learn

Penn State students can attend several free events on campus this week.

The student environmental group Eco-Action will host Spend Some Time in the Great OutDorm on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn in front of Pattee Library, in recognition of Fossil Fools Day, a national day of action. Weather permitting, the group will set up a mock dorm room with appliances supported by a solar power array from Penn State's Center for Sustainability, Eco-Action member Gina Riggio said.

This year's BioDays and Space Day will both take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the IST Building. BioDays will feature speakers and activities such as a tour of a classroom-sized model of a cell and a DNA-model-building workshop. Space Day will have presentations and workshops for children and adults, as well as shows at the Davey Lab planetarium. More information and complete schedules for both events are available online at www.huck.psu.edu /biodays and http://www.psu.edu /spacegrant/spaceday.
