Mark Taticchi (sophomore-economics, political science, history) and Rodney Hughes (sophomore-economics)

Platform goals

  • Incorporate diversity and student safety into First-Year Seminars
  • Put required student textbook lists online
  • Make USG more student centered

Most important issues facing Penn State students

Taticchi and Hughes said the biggest issue facing students is involvement in student government. The pair would like to increase cooperation and efficiency within USG.

They said they plan to improve assistance to disabled students, as well as improve junk mail filters on Penn State e-mail accounts.

Taticchi and Hughes also want to make it possible to roll over meal points from one academic year to another and increase racial diversity by promoting diversity awareness programs.

Motivation for running

Both said they have experience in student government and feel that they could "really make a difference" as USG president and vice president.

Previous community/university involvement

Taticchi served one year as a Senate staff member, and one year each as a USG Supreme Court clerk and associate justice. Hughes has served on the Schreyer Honors College student council executive committee and was a member of USG Academic Assembly last semester.
