The Penn State baseball home opener, scheduled for 1 p.m. yesterday vs. Bucknell, has been canceled due to unplayable field conditions. Wednesday's unexpected snowfall of about three inches forced the cancellation, and the two teams will try to reschedule at a later date.
First-year coach Robbie Wine and the Nittany Lions (7-6) are riding a three-game winning streak after sweeping Delaware on the road last weekend. The Lions will try to carry that momentum into a three-game set at James Madison this weekend. Penn State and the Dukes will play a doubleheader beginning at noon tomorrow, and then a third and final game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday. The Lions will now play their home opener vs. St. Bonaventure 3 p.m. Tuesday at Beaver Field.
