A six-foot-long birthday cake, decorated with blue and white icing and a giant cake replica of the HUB-Robeson Center, waited to be cut into 1,000 slices.

The admissions process may seem like a remotely distant one for students currently enrolled at Penn State, but it is a serious issue for the university.

The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown recently filed an appeal against the State College Zoning Hearing Board's decision to block the construction of a Catholic student center on the 100 block of East Park Avenue.

Despite an attempt to set the wheels in motion for a new Greek Jewish Council, co-founder Ross Diamond said the outlook is not bright for the organization's future. "I don't think anything constructive will come out of continuing it," he said. "People just don't want to put time into it."

Online multiplayer games are a growing trend at Penn State, allowing students to momentarily forget about homework, but some are worried they might be addictive.

There is not a single factor that one can pinpoint when trying to decide what college basketball teams, men's or women's, will have success in the NCAA tournament, but there is nothing wrong with giving it the old college try.
