Pa. resident charged with harassment

A Mingoville man was arraigned before District Justice Thomas Jordan Sunday and charged with making terroristic threats and harassment.

State College Police said Theadore Stoner, 19, is accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Pieper of Bellefonte.

Police said Stoner called Pieper on her cell phone while she was at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1661 S. Atherton St., and left a voicemail message that said, "you wanna play games, you're f---ing dead" several times.

Police said Pieper feared for her life and reported the incident to police at 3:14 a.m. Sunday.

After his arraignment, Stoner was taken to Centre County Prison but has since been released.



Man allegedly uses fake Visa cheques

A Philadelphia man was arraigned March 7 for allegedly using fraudulent Visa Travelers Cheques on Jan. 5.

Eric Lindsey, 44, of 5211 Warren St., was charged with several counts of forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

According to court documents, Lindsey used counterfeit $100 Travelers Cheques at local businesses including Wal-Mart, 373 Benner Pike, Barnes and Noble, 365 Benner Pike and Bon Ton, 2900 E. College Ave. and Sheetz, 2000 E. College Ave., to make small purchases and received change.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
