Scott injured, could miss spring practice

Rising junior running back Austin Scott sustained an injury in Tuesday's winter workouts, according to Penn State sports information director Jeff Nelson. Nelson said he was not able to go into specifics on the nature of the injury, but that it could be serious enough for Scott to miss a portion of spring practice, which begins on March 28.

Scott underwent evaluations for the injury yesterday, but information on his status and on the length of the expected recovery period has not yet been finalized. Scott played in 10 games during the 2004 season and was the team's second leading rusher, in addition to returning kickoffs.
