To anyone disappointed in the fact the Penn State allows on-campus condom sales in a place of higher education ("PSU should not back Condom-Co-op sale," March 3), I'd like to remind you just what higher education is all about.
Though you may be under the impression that college is all about classes, or homework or your major (or even sex and parties), I hate to break it to you -- but it's not.
As adults, you should spend your time in college learning how to think for yourself, whether that means supporting abstinence or so-called sexual promiscuity.
The university is here to foster the development of ideas, and the growth of students as competent and independent thinkers. Not to tell you what to do. Lastly, I'd suggest that if you are so against the sales of condoms on campus, perhaps you should consider selling something to combat the rampant sex going on in State College.
I imagine the HUB would love a Chastity Belt Sale. You can roll your cart up right next to that of the Condom Co-Op and give people a true choice.
