Student arraigned for alleged assault

A Penn State student was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Grine on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck a woman, cutting her nose.

Jonathan L. Reid, of the 500 block of Vairo Boulevard, is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $3,500 bail, Penn State University Police said.

Centre County Emergency Communications reported the domestic dispute at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday on the third floor of Cooper Hall. The woman was evaluated by University Ambulance Service staff, but said she did not want to be taken to a medical facility.
