I am writing this letter because of the article written in the Collegian ("Officials questioning caucus demands," March 1)

There was one point in the article which caught my attention. One of the demands is that "Black Caucus is also asking for increased diversity among Penn State University Police." My response to this is that the law is enforced equally without regard to race, creed, national origin or sexual orientation.

The acts of hate that occurred a few days ago are lamentable; however, a more diversified police department will not rectify this problem.
