Sophomore Penn State women's lacrosse player Lindsay Dutch has been named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week, league officials announced. It is the first career honor for Dutch and the first for Penn State this season. Penn State athletics announced most of the dates on its football schedules for 2007 and 2008 yesterday, with some of the nation's top programs coming to Beaver Stadium. Junior women's gymnast Lisa Clark has been named the Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week, conference officials announced. Clark shares the weekly award with Cara Pomeroy of Illinois. Last Monday, as senior co-captain Adam Smith walked into the wrestling room located in the catacombs of Rec Hall, he heard the words "Adam Smith, national champion." Sporting a collared shirt and a new haircut, Eric Bradley joined Penn State wrestling coach Troy Sunderland at the podium for a press conference for this weekend's Big Ten tournament in Iowa City, Iowa. The No. 23 Penn State women's basketball team got a small pick-me-up this morning when the All-Big Ten Team was announced. After the Big Ten Conference Championships, it appears as if Penn State's women's indoor track and field team will have something to look forward to for a long time to come, as five Penn State athletes, including three freshmen, earned spots on the All-Big Ten first and second teams. The land of the rising sun set on the men's gymnastics team last night, as the Japanese college all-stars defeated Penn State by a tight score of 224.5-224.3.
