Sophomore Penn State women's lacrosse player Lindsay Dutch has been named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week, league officials announced. It is the first career honor for Dutch and the first for Penn State this season.

In Penn State's 15-7 season-opening upset of No. 15 Vanderbilt on Saturday, Dutch scored four goals, including the first two goals of the game, on eight shots, and added three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Her third and fourth goals of the game came within three minutes of each other, both on free-position shots in the second half.

The sophomore also collected six draw controls and was one of the main reasons that the Nittany Lions won the draw-control battle, 20-4

In addition, junior Shari Maslin was also tabbed as an Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention Division I National Player of the Week.

Maslin recorded two goals and added three assists for five points in Penn State's victory over Vanderbilt, also chalking up five draw controls.
